Up North Energy uses an advanced, very expensive infrared camera to measure the heat emmitted by objects. Our FLIR B50 camera takes over 19,000 temperature measurements in each and every photo. This high resolution camera allows us to accurately measure the temperature of any object. By measuring the varying amounts of energy emitted from objects we are able to measure even the smallest temperature differences between them. This information allows us to determine heat loss in homes (through walls, windows, ceilings etc.) in addition to measuring heat loss in electrical components.
